As of 2025, we are an official partner of UNICEF, and we couldn't be prouder. We have supported UNICEF’s mission for many years, and through this partnership, we are joining forces to strengthen children's rights and ensure a better future for children worldwide. We share a clear mission: every child deserves the best start in life. Whether it concerns health, development, or protection, children are at the heart of everything we both do.
What do we unite?
UNICEF has global knowledge and experience of children's rights. We have pedagogical expertise, a large network and direct contact with parents and employees. This is how we strengthen each other.
We work on structural improvements, locally and globally. Because the first years of life are decisive. If you make a difference there, you make an impact for life. UNICEF is strongly committed to the first 1,000 days of a child's life: crucial for development. Partou works with this target group on a daily basis and can reinforce this vision locally.

Our support is directed towards several key programmes, both in the Netherlands and internationally:
The ‘5 Million Futures’ Programme
Internationally, Partou contributes to UNICEF’s ‘5 Million Futures’ programme. This initiative aims to provide five million children worldwide with access to high-quality early childhood education by 2030. This is vital, as over 175 million children globally currently lack access to this essential first step in their education. We are committed to making a difference and are collaborating on concrete plans to achieve this goal.
Flexible Funding for Emergency Relief
We also provide flexible funding, allowing UNICEF to allocate resources wherever the need is greatest—whether responding to acute disasters, conflicts, or long-term ‘forgotten’ crises. Through the Global Humanitarian Thematic Fund, we contribute to rapid and effective aid for the most vulnerable children, including those in conflict zones such as Gaza. This type of funding is essential as it enables UNICEF to respond instantly to emergencies without having to wait for specific donations.
Children’s Rights Film Festival
In the Netherlands, we collaborate on the Children’s Rights Film Festival. Pupils in Years 6, 7, and 8 (ages 9–12) work with a film coach to create a short feature film about a child's right they find important. The children star in the films themselves, which then premiere on the festival’s popular YouTube channel. This allows children to learn about their rights through play while giving them a platform to make their voices heard.
